Mind the Stairs

This may be my last entry…

The French have an expression for those pithy comebacks that evade you until you have left the room –  ‘l’esprit d’escalier’ which translates to stair wit or mind of the stairs.

The late, great American comedian Mitch Hedberg observed:

“An escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. You should never see an ‘Escalator Temporarily Out of Order’ sign, just ‘Escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience'”

All I know is that People are not good at stairs and especially bad at escalators. Brummies may just be about the worst though as the following British Transport Police video indicates.

Also, if you are a Brummie in New Street on the escalators, get out of my bastard way!
