Seasons Greetins

This may be my last entry…

We saw some spring sunshine today with temperatures soaring up to 19°C!

This meant that everyone declared spring to have finally arrived – which really gets on my tits.

Spring arrived on 20th March, the thing they are referring to is weather. There is a very definite start and end to a season and it is not dependent on weather.

From Wikipedia:

Seasons result from the yearly orbit of the Earth around the Sun and the tilt of the Earth’s rotational axis relative to the plane of the orbit.

Don’t even get me started on people who claim summer is over as soon as they feel the first spot of rain!

The other direct result of a bit of early sunshine is that sun-detectors everywhere were going off noisily. I call them sun-detectors because I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard a burglar alarm go off for any other purpose. Insurance companies prefer you have them, burglars either don’t care or can bypass them, they go off when even a small amount of heat is applied; burglar alarms: indiscriminate noise pollution for all!

Thanks for reading, now learn your science and sod off!
